Info
On November 22, 2026, Marisela performs at Las Ventas in Madrid. Born in Los Angeles to Mexican parents and known as “La Dama de Hierro” (The Iron Lady), she rose to prominence in the mid-1980s with a repertoire of Latin pop and romantic ballads in Spanish, delivering a direct, melodic interpretation that connected her with audiences on both sides of the border. She debuted with Sin Él (1984), produced by Marco Antonio Solís, who also wrote several songs from her early period, including the duet “La Pareja Ideal.” That beginning was followed by Completamente tuya (1985) and Porque tengo ganas (1986), on which she combined sentimental songs, pop tempos, and arrangements typical of Latin music at the time. She closed the decade with Marisela (1989) and continued in 1990 with Hablemos claro, alternating performances between the United States and Mexico. Later she broadened her scope toward banda with Marisela con la Banda La Escamilla (1993) and toward bolero with Historia de un amor: Boleros con trío (2000), before recording La otra in 2002. In Madrid, this concert surveys those stages: Spanish-language ballads, 1980s pop, and nods to her excursions into banda and bolero, with a focus on the songs that trace her artistic journey.
