Info

Mary Black brings the Slán Tour to Gleneagle Arena in Killarney, Ireland, on 16 May 2026. Raised in Dublin in a family steeped in traditional music, she first sang with her siblings before stepping out with the folk group General Humbert and launching her solo path in 1982. Her voice and phrasing, rooted in Irish ballads, gradually opened onto a more contemporary palette where folk meets country and acoustic pop.

Through the 1980s, her close work with guitarist and producer Declan Sinnott shaped albums like Without the Fanfare and By the Time It Gets Dark, while her stint with De Dannan anchored her on Irish and international stages. The following years brought No Frontiers, Babes in the Wood and The Holy Ground, then Circus, Shine, Speaking with the Angel, Full Tide and Stories from the Steeples. Along the way, she joined collective adventures such as A Woman’s Heart and shared stages with artists including Joan Baez.

On this date, Mary Black revisits songs across decades with a tight acoustic band, weaving intimate ballads and more modern shades from her catalogue into a clear, unadorned live set.
