The Wolfe Tones bring six decades of Irish ballad tradition to Gleneagle Arena in Killarney on 21 August 2026. Formed in Dublin in 1963, the group centers its sound on close vocal harmonies and acoustic strings, blending traditional tunes with original songs shaped by history, emigration and identity. The core grew around Brian Warfield and Noel Nagle, with Tommy Byrne joining in 1964; since 2001 the band performs as a trio.
On stage, The Wolfe Tones move between rebel ballads, folk standards and crowd choruses, drawing on a catalog that runs from The Foggy Dew to Let the People Sing, A Sense of Freedom, You’ll Never Beat the Irish, Child of Destiny and The Dublin Rebellion 1916. Pipes, whistles, guitars and voices set the tone for a night anchored in Irish folk storytelling.
