Edwin Raphael

Montreal-based singer and songwriter Edwin Raphael shapes a quiet, inward-looking indie folk that leans toward alternative pop and soft-focus dream-pop textures. Raised between Dubai and India before settling in Quebec, he writes from the in-between: a forward, unguarded voice, fingerpicked guitars, discreet ambient layers, and lyrics circling identity, distance and memory. After early self-released tracks in the mid-2010s, he put out his first full-length, Will You Think of Me Later? in 2020. The collaborative EP Staring at Ceilings in 2021 broadened the arrangements without losing the core intimacy, and Warm Terracotta in 2023 pushed further into contemplative moods while keeping a lean setup. On stage he moves between solo formats and a tight band, letting space, breath and melody do the work. Edwin Raphael plays on 21 May 2026 at Lucia in Vienna, bringing these understated songs to life from early sketches to recent material.
