Gregory Porter

On July 30, 2026, Gregory Porter will bring his blend of jazz, soul and gospel to the stage at the Lüneburger Kultursommer in Lüneburg. The singer, born in Sacramento and raised in Bakersfield, shaped his voice early in church and on the musical stage before attracting attention in Brooklyn and in Harlem’s clubs. His deep timbre, narrative, almost spoken phrasing, and lyrics that move between personal stories and social themes have defined his path since his debut Water (2010) and Be Good (2012). During his Blue Note era he released Liquid Spirit (2013), Take Me to the Alley (2016) and the orchestral project Nat King Cole & Me (2017), most recently All Rise (2020). Live, Porter blends his own songs with gently reinterpreted standards, from intimate ballads to tracks with a pronounced groove, occasionally even steering them toward house. An evening that consolidates his current repertoire and makes audible the breadth of his contemporary jazz infused with soul DNA.
