Black Country, New Road

Black Country, New Road arrive in A Coruña with the expanded lineup that saw them grow around the Windmill in Brixton: bass, drums, guitars, saxophone, violin and keys for a sound that crosses post-rock, art rock and echoes of jazz and klezmer. Since 2018 they have been weaving long-form pieces, with tempo changes and highly referential lyrics that unfold with added depth in concert.

After drawing attention with the singles “Athens, France” and “Sunglasses” in 2019, they released For the First Time in 2021 and, in 2022, Ants From Up There, recorded with Isaac Wood. His departure shortly before the release led to redistributing the vocals among the rest of the group and steering the repertoire toward clearer melodies, at times approaching chamber-music-like songs. Live at Bush Hall (2023) documented that new phase and their increasingly choral dynamic onstage.
