Fink

Fink brings a new chapter to Leipzig: on 3 October 2026 the trio led by singer and guitarist Fin Greenall will play at UT Connewitz. Having started in the late ’90s in the downtempo/Ninja Tune sphere, Fink early shifted toward acoustic folk and blues — and since Biscuits for Breakfast has performed as a compact trio with bass and drums. On stage this yields a clear, pulsing sound of fingerpicking, a deep voice and pared‑down grooves, whose tension comes from repetition and small shifts.

In tow: The City Is Coming to Erase It All, the ninth studio album, recorded in Zennor, Cornwall, using a strict 1970s-era methodology. No tool that didn’t exist in 1974 — not as a retro gesture but as an attitude: nowstalgia instead of nostalgia. The album thinks again in terms of dramaturgy, from the gathering opener to the instrumental closer, and makes it audible how much Fink is driven by the album format and the discovery of new nuances. Live, that means fresh material at the center, carried by the joy of playing, with room to breathe, friction and that quiet intensity that has accompanied Fink for years.
