Info
On 23 September 2026 Holy Holy will play at PHIL, Haarlem. The Australian duo of Timothy Carroll and Oscar Dawson emerged in the early 2010s from a long-distance exchange between Australia and Europe and later found their place in the indie scene. Their early work centers on melodic alternative rock with expansive guitars, interwoven with folk, psych and country influences. Gradually the band shifted its focus toward synth-driven textures, where new wave, disco and spare electronic pop are given more space without abandoning the rock foundation. You can hear that development from The Pacific (2014) via When the Storms Would Come and Paint to My Own Pool of Light and Hello My Beautiful World, up to Cellophane (2023). Live, they build—with an expanded lineup—on the interplay between Carroll’s songwriting and Dawson’s production.
For this concert they add Tony Visconti to the frontline. The collaboration emphasizes arrangement, tone and detail: immediate hooks, smooth choruses and clear contrasts between driving rhythms and more nocturnal atmospheres. Expect a set that summarizes their evolution, from layered guitars to synth hues, always with the focus on the song. Holy Holy moves effortlessly between energy and introspection, putting every layer at the service of the song so the whole both moves and reflects.
