Ty Segall

Ty Segall is coming to Berlin: on September 14, 2026 the Californian musician will play at Festsaal Kreuzberg. At the center is Possession (Drag City, 2025), his 16th album, whose lyrics he developed together with filmmaker Matt Yoka. The songs recount paths and characters in American landscapes and open a narrative frame that leaves room for tensions and transitions in a live setting.

Musically, Segall shifts the focus: his piano playing moves to the forefront, layered rhythmic patterns carry the pieces, and strings and brass provide accents. These are complemented by distinctive guitar riffs and multi-part vocals, which he has been exploring further since Three Bells (2024). Fantastic Tomb, the lead single from Possession, sketches the tone: direct, melodic, with a raw edge.

On stage Segall consolidates these elements between fuzz drive, psych‑rock loops and short acoustic respites. The set links new material with older songs, unafraid of abrupt shifts, and demonstrates how flexibly he shapes his songs live — close to the storytelling, close to the pulse of the arrangements.
