St. Paul and the Broken Bones

On 14 November 2026, St. Paul & The Broken Bones will play at Sala Lab/Wagon, located in Chamartín Station, Madrid. Formed in the early 2010s in Birmingham, Alabama, the group works within the tradition of Southern soul while adopting a contemporary approach to songwriting. Centered on Paul Janeway’s voice and Jesse Phillips’ bass, the band shapes a sound that includes a horn section, keyboards and a tight rhythm section, crossing soul and rhythm and blues with touches of funk and echoes of gospel.

Their discography traces a trajectory from roots soul toward more psychedelic and atmospheric landscapes: Half the City (2014), Sea of Noise (2016), Young Sick Camellia (2018), The Alien Coast (2022) and Angels in Science Fiction (2023).
