Info
La Delio Valdez lands in Madrid on July 30, 2026 to present their orchestral cumbia at Sala But. Formed in Buenos Aires, the band deploys a large-orchestra format with brass, percussion and multiple vocalists — a setup designed for dancing and for sharing music as a collective.
Inspired by the great Latin American tropical orchestras, La Delio Valdez takes the roots of Colombian cumbia and blends them with Caribbean accents, salsa and popular song. Their arrangements set brass and vocal choirs in dialogue, sustain strong rhythms and aim for a contemporary energy without losing tradition. Live, that balance translates into an energetic, engaging pulse that moves the audience from the first song.
The repertoire mixes original compositions with reinterpretations of the tropical songbook, leaving room for improvisation and collective celebration. After years of touring across the Americas and Europe, the group arrives in Madrid with a program that celebrates popular culture and togetherness on the dance floor, maintaining the cooperative spirit that defines the orchestra.
