ShitKid

Since 2016, ShitKid has stood for lo-fi rock driven by scruffy garage energy, spare structures and half-sung, half-spoken hooks — the uncompromising solo project of the Swede Åsa Söderqvist. After the first big splash with “Oh Please Be A Cocky Cool Kid” came the debut album Fish, the EP This Is It, and Detention, all positioned between minimal grunge, DIY pop and gritty punk. She collaborated with the Melvins on the EP Duo Limbo / Mellan himmel å helvete, which casts the project’s rawness in a different light. In 2020 Söderqvist put ShitKid on hold; now the return has arrived: on 29 June 2026 at Neue Zukunft, Berlin. On stage ShitKid distils the essence of these records into a direct, unvarnished set: fuzzed-out guitars, stoic beats, melodies with an edge and a voice that oscillates between speaking and singing. Anyone who knows ShitKid from festivals like Roskilde, SXSW or Way Out West knows: live it’s about immediate impact, raw and without frills — exactly the nerve this evening aims for.
