Royel Otis

Royel Otis are coming to Groningen: on 30 June 2026 the Australian duo will play at SPOT/De Oosterpoort. Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic began writing together in 2019 and developed their own blend of dreamy pop, indie rock and a touch of psych. Sparkling guitars, clear melodic work and a tight yet airy production are their trademark, with echoes of MGMT, Phoenix and Tame Impala without copying them. During the lockdowns they carefully honed their sound, arriving at a recognisable signature in which texture is just as important as the chorus.

Their debut album Pratts & Pain (2024) set the tone, with tracks like Sofa King, Adored and Heading For The Door. Live, the duo translates those songs into a compact, direct set: crystal-clear riffs, warm vocal harmonies and grooves that steadily build. Without overproduction, it’s about detail, dynamics and melodies that stick. In Groningen Royel Otis will perform material from the debut and recent singles, with that characteristic balance between lo-fi nostalgia and fresh pop ideas. An evening where every hook lands precisely and the atmosphere builds organically.
