Info
On 13 May 2026 members of Broken Social Scene will perform at Rough Trade Berlin with an acoustic set, followed by a Q&A and signing — an evening centered on their new album Remember The Humans, released on City Slang. The Canadian collective from Toronto was formed in 1999 around Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning and operates with an open lineup: musicians from the local indie scene frequently join in, including members of Do Make Say Think, Metric and Stars; voices such as Feist, Emily Haines and Amy Millan have regularly lent their character to the songs.
From the instrumental debut Feel Good Lost, through You Forgot It in People and Broken Social Scene, to Forgiveness Rock Record and Hug of Thunder, the band has continued to develop its blend of indie rock, pop and atmospheric textures. In the acoustic live format, structure, melodies and choral arrangements come to the fore; the tracks on Remember The Humans are pared-down and direct. In conversation the participants will offer insights into their writing and recording processes, answer questions from the audience and sign albums afterwards.
