Goldfish

GoldFish will be at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht on 20 March 2026. The duo from Cape Town, now based in San Diego, consists of Dominic Peters and David Poole, two musicians with a jazz background who seamlessly blend electronics and live instruments. Their sound moves effortlessly between house and pop, with jazz harmonies and African influences, where saxophone, flute, piano and double bass are as important as drum machines and synths.

On stage GoldFish occupies a space between live band and DJ set: loops, samples and driving grooves are given extra color by live horn players, keys and improvisation. The repertoire draws from their albums, from Caught in the Loop and Perceptions of Pacha to Get Busy Living, Three Second Memory, Late Night People and the recent If Summer Was A Sound. The two have brought their hybrid club sensibility to festivals such as Glastonbury, Ultra and SXSW, and have also been involved in remix work, including on “Divine Sorrow” by Wyclef Jean and Avicii. In Utrecht they will present that mix of danceable electronics and organic sound—tightly produced but with the spontaneity of a live band.
