Sons of the East

Sons Of The East will perform at Caprera in Bloemendaal on 29 July 2026. The Australian trio, hailing from Sydney’s north coast and formed by Jack Rollins, Dan Wallage and Nic Johnston, has been developing a distinctive indie-folk profile since the early 2010s: multi-part vocals, acoustic guitars and rhythms that lean toward pop and Americana. After a series of EPs — Sons Of The East (2013), Already Gone (2014), Lost Cause (2015) and Burn Right Through (2019) — their debut album Palomar Parade was released in 2022. Their songs rely on direct melodies, spare arrangements and carefully crafted vocal harmonies; they range from intimate folk ballads to more energetic numbers with a touch of indie rock. Live, the focus is on interplay and group vocals, with harmonies that reinforce the structure of the songs. In recent years the band has played across Australia, Europe and North America. At Caprera their blend of contemporary folk and alternative pop will take centre stage, with melodies up front and vocal harmonies that tie everything together.
