Clean Pete's Kerstshow

On 12 December 2026 Clean Pete will perform their Christmas show at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Clean Pete is the twin duo from Nijmegen, Loes and Renée Wijnhoven. They write and sing in Dutch, somewhere between intimate pop, folk and chanson. Their music revolves around the interplay of two voices, with guitar and cello as a steady foundation. The lyrics are narrative and down-to-earth, full of small observations from everyday life, relationships and micro-stories from the city, sometimes with a gentle wink.

In the Christmas show they place that simplicity and sense of closeness at the centre. Not bombast, but compact arrangements that let the language and the rhythm of the words speak. Melody and harmony draw the audience in: two voices that interlock, sweeping lines from the cello, guitar chords that leave room for breath and silence. The result is a set that builds quietly and touches the seasonal mood without grand gestures.

Since the early 2010s the duo has been steadily building their own repertoire. Live, that craftsmanship becomes especially clear: precise, direct and intimate, with songs that draw their strength from clearly written lines and harmonies that support one another.
