Kraak & Smaak

On 3 April 2026 Kraak & Smaak will play at Patronaat in Haarlem. The Leiden production trio — Oscar de Jong, Wim Plug and Mark Kneppers — have been developing a sound since the early 2000s that intersects nu-disco, house, broken beat and pop. Warm synths, organic grooves and melodic basslines form the backbone, leaving room for soulful vocals and a distinct club signature.

In Haarlem they will delve into a catalogue spanning more than twenty years: from Boogie Angst and Plastic People to Electric Hustle, Chrome Waves, Juicy Fruit, Pleasure Centre and Scirocco. The set shifts effortlessly between downtempo atmospheres and more direct dancefloor moments, always with a tight sense of rhythm and careful attention to dynamics. Their experience as a live band shows in the build-up of tension, while their DJ roots ensure a smooth flow from track to track.

Aside from their stage work, the three run their label Boogie Angst, a hub for their own productions and remixes. That broad perspective also informs this performance: funk, disco and house as the foundation, with fresh twists that bring the audience along without losing sight of the essence.
