Randall King

On 13 May 2026 Randall King plays at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The singer from West Texas stays close to the roots of country: honky-tonk, neotraditional sounds and songs that evoke the road, bars and small towns. He broke through in the mid-2010s with the EP Another Bullet, which set the tone for a repertoire that moves between brisk two-stepers and slow ballads.

His self-titled 2018 album continued that line with bright guitars, pedal steel up front and a direct, no-nonsense voice. On Shot Glass (2022) he refines that sound with a slightly more modern touch without letting go of the classic feel. Expect a tight band live, lots of twang, pedal steel that makes the melodies glide and stories that land immediately, whether they’re about late-night drives or the last round.

King grew up on the Texas club circuit, moved to Nashville and has been playing nonstop ever since. You can hear those miles in his timing, his dynamics and the way he takes the room from uptempo grooves to quiet moments. At Melkweg all of that comes together in a set that breathes tradition while feeling completely of the moment.
