Marble Sounds

Info

On 8 May 2026, Belgian indie band Marble Sounds bring their spare, melodic songs to SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Centered on singer-songwriter Pieter Van Dessel, the project grew from a song lab into a steady band, with a sound that moves between indie pop, intimate folk and a touch of post‑rock. Live, the focus is on Van Dessel’s soft voice, piano and discreet guitars, with strings and subtle layers that gradually unfold.

The set spans their entire catalogue: from Nice Is Good and Dear Me, Look Up to The Advice to Travel Light and the self-titled 2022 album. You’ll hear classically structured songs, stripped-down arrangements and slowly rolling tempos, with careful attention to harmonies. Not about grand gestures, but about detail and timing: songs that leave space, tightly played and oriented toward nuance.

In recent years Marble Sounds have carved out a place in the Belgian indie scene and are known for concerts that remain close to the heart of the songs. In Groningen they bring that DNA with them: clear, deliberate and without excess, with Van Dessel’s voice as their compass.
