Peter Hook & The Light

Peter Hook & The Light will perform at the Melkweg in Amsterdam on 17 March 2026. Since 2010, bassist and songwriter Peter Hook has been revisiting the repertoire of Joy Division and New Order with his band, presenting a live set that highlights the core of those songs: melodic, propulsive bass, sharp guitars and the tension between post‑punk and early electronic pop. The Light often stages themed tours in which entire albums are played, alternating with setlists that mix classics and less obvious tracks. Tight interpretations stay close to the original intent while leaving room for the energy of today. Hook takes the lead vocals and places his signature basslines front and center, while the band expands synth lines, drums and textures into a robust live sound. This evening focuses on the songbook that has fed generations, from the raw intensity of Joy Division to the danceable, eighties-era phase of New Order, performed by a musician who was there from the start.
