Info
On 12 March 2026, SPRINTS play at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Dublin four-piece—frontwoman and guitarist Karla Chubb alongside Colm O’Reilly, Sam McCann and Jack Callan—work in the space where post-punk and garage rock intersect. Short, sharp riffs, tightly wound rhythms and a vocal delivery that moves effortlessly between speaking and singing: that formula brought them attention through early singles and the EP Manifesto (Nice Swan, 2021). With A Modern Job (2022) they sharpened their lines and allowed more room for melody, while the lyrics remained close to everyday life, politics and identity. On the album Letter to Self (City Slang, 2024) the palette opens up a little more, but the core stays raw and direct—designed for the stage.
Support comes from Marathon, rooted in Amsterdam’s alternative rock scene. Their sound ties post-punk to indie with subtle noise accents: cutting guitars, a solid rhythm section and songs that build on tension, repetition and sudden twists. The vocals shift between urgency and melodic lines, without retro gimmicks or unnecessary frills. Marathon grew through single releases and club shows and bring that urban energy into the venue.
