Jens Lekman - Songs for other people’s weddings-Tour 2026

Jens Lekman brings his Songs for Other People’s Weddings Tour 2026 to Berlin: on 8 March 2026 at Gretchen in Kreuzberg. The singer-songwriter from Gothenburg has developed his own indie-pop voice since the early 2000s: intimate, narrative pieces, arranged close to chamber pop, with subtle samples and scenes from everyday life. After initial CDRs and EPs, his debut When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog appeared in 2004, positioned between melodic indie pop and quiet guitar-and-voice ballads. In 2007 Night Falls Over Kortedala expanded this approach with richer arrangements and greater narrative scope. I Know What Love Isn’t (2012) pared back the forms and moved closer to quiet observation. With Life Will See You Now (2017), rhythms and colours from disco, soul and 1980s pop came more to the fore, without sacrificing the precision of his lyrics.

On stage Lekman brings these phases together into a focused set: autobiographical miniatures, clear melodic lines and arrangements that shift between delicate chamber aesthetics and danceable accents. A concentrated evening of songs that carry stories — on 8 March at Gretchen.
