Prinz Pi

Prinz Pi, born Friedrich Kautz, has developed since the late 1990s from the explicit battle-rap of his early alter ego Prinz Porno into a more narrative approach. Beginning with Neopunk, his focus shifted to reflective lyrics, everyday observations and social themes, supported by productions straddling alternative hip‑hop and pop‑rap. Milestones in his discography such as !Donnerwetter!, Rebell ohne Grund, Kompass ohne Norden, pp=mc², Im Westen nix Neues and Nichts war umsonst trace this trajectory. From time to time he reactivates the Prinz Porno sound—for example with Teenage Mutant Horror Show 2—while remaining connected within the scene through features or his label, Keine Liebe Records.
