NE‑YO & AKON bring their Nights Like This Tour 2026 to the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg on 26 May 2026. Two defining voices of US R&B, bringing pop, hip‑hop and afrobeats together live.
Akon, born in St. Louis and raised between New Jersey and Senegal, has, since his debut Trouble (2004), blended R&B melodicism, Autotune vocals and a clear hip‑hop imprint. With Konvicted (2006) and Freedom (2008) he opened his sonic palette to the pop and dance worlds and multiplied collaborations spanning rap, mainstream pop and European electronica. From 2010 onward African rhythms moved more to the fore, evident on El Negreeto and Akonda (both 2019), where Afro‑pop, contemporary R&B and club elements converge. On stage Akon concentrates this mix into direct hooks and pulsating grooves.
Ne‑Yo, shaped in Las Vegas, began as a songwriter and stepped into the spotlight with In My Own Words (2006). Because of You (2007) and Year of the Gentleman (2008) defined his style between soulful mid‑tempos, hip‑hop‑inspired productions and memorable choruses. Later albums such as Libra Scale, R.E.D., Good Man and Self Explanatory incorporated more dance and electro elements without diminishing the narrative weight of his lyrics. Live, Ne‑Yo relies on precise songwriting, clean vocals and groove.
