Yumi Zouma

Yumi Zouma are playing Yuca in Cologne on 6 March 2026. The quartet from Christchurch, NZ, has honed its signature between dream-pop and synth-pop: gentle vocals, delicate guitars, unobtrusive electronics and plenty of space for melodies. The project originally began as a remote-studio idea with files exchanged across continents — a working method that can be heard in the record’s precise, restrained production. On stage the band, comprising Christie Simpson, Josh Burgess, Charlie Ryder and Olivia Campion, rely on compact songs, tight harmonies and subtle ’80s touches. Their repertoire spans the early EPs like Yoncalla and Willowbank through to Truth or Consequences and Present Tense. They even recreated Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours in full, underlining their fondness for clear pop structures. Live, that means shimmering keys, springy basslines and hooks that don’t need grandiosity — a focused, atmospheric set that carries their studio aesthetic into the live moment.
