Magic City Hippies bring their winter tour to Vancouver, led by singer-guitarist Robby Hunter with Pat Howard on drums and production and John Coughlin on guitar. Formed in Miami after Hunter’s solo sets in bars and on street corners, the project evolved from the Robby Hunter Band to Magic City Hippies in the mid-2010s, building an indie funk sound where psych-leaning guitars, supple grooves, pop melodies and a touch of hip-hop meet. The EP Hippie Castle (2015) laid the groundwork, followed by Modern Animal (2019) with broader production and mid-tempo atmospheres, then Water Your Garden (2022), which plays the balance between uptempo tracks and more contemplative moments. On stage, the trio leans into groove, rhythmic flow and guitar interplay. Catch them at The Pearl in Vancouver on Friday, February 20, 2026.
SUPERTASTE joins the bill as special guest, setting the tone before Magic City Hippies take over.
