Info

Matt Andersen returns to Toronto with a night at Massey Hall, 178 Victoria Street, on February 21, 2026. Raised in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, the Canadian singer and guitarist moves with ease between blues, folk, soul and roots rock. His songs look to everyday lives and rural horizons, often carried by an acoustic-driven playing style. From Second Time Around and Coal Mining Blues to Weightless, Honest Man, Halfway Home by Morning and The Big Bottle of Joy, his catalog traces a steady line through tender ballads, rock-tinged cuts and stripped-back pieces. On stage, whether solo or with his group, Andersen draws from this range with the unhurried confidence of a road-tested songwriter.

Opening the evening, Mariel Buckley brings a Canadian alt-country perspective shaped in Calgary. Her writing blends Americana, country alternative and folk rock, favoring slow to mid-tempo grooves, saturated guitars and a low, frank voice. After Driving in the Dark (2018) and Everywhere I Used To Be (2022), she continues to explore stories of the road, family ties, doubt and identities slightly off the beaten path.
