Charlotte Adigéry
Born in Narbonne in 1990 and raised in Ghent, Charlotte Adigéry develops music situated between electro, avant-pop, R&B and vocal experiments, nourished by her Martinican and Guadeloupean origins as much as by the Belgian scene. Her trajectory takes shape in the mid-2010s when she lends her voice to "The Best Thing" on the Belgica soundtrack in 2016, composed by David and Stephen Dewaele of Soulwax, with whom she subsequently enters into a regular collaboration within the Deewee label. Charlotte Adigéry releases her first self-titled EP in 2017, where English, French and Creole intersect, followed by Zandoli in 2019, which asserts a taste for dry rhythms, flexible vocal lines and a direct relationship to the text, often traversed by questions of identity, language and representation. In parallel, Charlotte Adigéry leads the project WWWater, rougher and closer to a post-punk writing. Her work with Bolis Pupul occupies a central place in her career, up to the album Topical Dancer in 2022, built as a dialogue between oblique pop, minimal electronic, spoken word and dancing motifs. On stage, Charlotte Adigéry moves between solo formats and collaborations, in contexts ranging from festivals to venues oriented toward contemporary and electronic music.
