Info
Blue Öyster Cult land in Manchester for a night of hard-edged American rock at Manchester Academy on 2 April 2027, with support from When River Meets. Born out of the late-60s Long Island scene, the band forged a sound that sits between hard rock drive, psychedelic color and early heavy metal weight, carried by melodic, sharp-edged guitar work and tightly stacked arrangements.
Expect a set that nods to their classic run from the early 70s onwards, where riff-heavy songs meet darker, sci-fi-leaning storytelling and that slightly esoteric edge that’s always set them apart. Still built around the long-running presence of Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom, Blue Öyster Cult keep the focus on songs that hit live: big choruses, twin-guitar tension, and that mix of punch and atmosphere that made their name in the first place.
