Info
On June 13, 2027, Mike + The Mechanics bring their Back on Track Tour to The Glasshouse - International Centre for Music in Gateshead, with the kind of pop-rock craft that made them a staple of late-80s and 90s British radio. Built around Mike Rutherford’s songwriting and that clean, chorus-first sound, the set is expected to lean into the band’s big singalong era: “Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)”, “All I Need Is a Miracle”, and “The Living Years” are the obvious landmarks, alongside deeper cuts from albums like Word of Mouth and Beggar on a Beach of Gold.
Since their 2010 relaunch, the group has stayed a real touring band, with Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar sharing lead vocals and keeping the material bright, soulful, and punchy. Live, it’s less about nostalgia than about tight arrangements and melodies that still land fast, whether you’re there for the classics or the later chapter with tracks from The Road, Let Me Fly, and Out of the Blue.
