Info
Kool & The Gang head to Royal Arena Copenhagen on 10 March 2027 with a concert that traces a direct line from their early instrumental funk to the more vocal R&B and dance years that made them regular guests on both club floors and large stages. The band emerged in the late 1960s in Jersey City around Robert “Kool” Bell and Ronald Bell, with roots in school bands and a desire to blend jazz, soul and a hard-hitting groove.
Live they have always been a band where horns, basslines and tight guitar figures carry the show, as heard on records such as “Wild and Peaceful.” Later the expression took on more vocal edge with the James “J.T.” Taylor era and the Deodato-shaped shift toward disco- and pop-inflected material, but the energy remains in the interplay. Expect a set spanning decades and keeping the focus on rhythm, the arrangements and the collective drive that still unites the band around Robert “Kool” Bell.
