Info
On January 23, 2027, at The Starlite Room in Edmonton, Brother Ali brings his brand of conscious Midwest hip-hop to Winterruption YEG. Known for sharp phrasing and storytelling that moves between personal details and bigger social questions, he’s built a catalog where boom bap, soul touches and spoken-word intensity meet. Expect a set shaped by years with the Rhymesayers circle, and the kind of direct, clear-eyed writing that turns a rap show into a real conversation.
Sharing the bill, Homeboy Sandman comes through with his Queens-bred, offbeat approach: dense lines, everyday observations, dry humor, and those quick turns of tone that keep you leaning in. From his DIY beginnings to his Stones Throw era and beyond, his live presence plays with rhythm and language as much as it does with beats. Add REJAZZ: Good Information playing The Roots into the mix, and you’ve got a night built for heads who like their rap thoughtful, nimble, and alive.
