Info
Leon Bridges brings The Happiness Anytime Tour to Calgary on August 20, 2027, stopping at Grey Eagle with a set built around the many sides of his songwriting. First known for a classic soul touch that nodded to the 50s and 60s, he’s kept stretching the frame over the years, moving into smoother modern R&B and neo-soul, and lately folding in more folk and country textures. Onstage, that evolution translates into a show that can swing from stripped-back, warm vocals to fuller grooves and late-night moods, always led by his phrasing and an easy sense of melody.
Special guest Kokoroko opens the night with their London-bred afrobeat and jazz blend. Led by trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey, the collective leans into bright brass lines, guitars and rolling rhythms inspired by West African highlife and Nigerian afrobeat, with the loose, improvisational edge of the UK jazz scene. Expect long, flowing instrumentals that build patiently, then lock into something you can actually move to.
