Info
Leon Bridges brings his The Happiness Anytime Tour to Calgary, stopping at Grey Eagle on August 19, 2027. Known for a voice that slips easily between vintage soul and modern R&B, Bridges has built a catalogue that started with the stripped-back, 50s-leaning vibe of Coming Home, then widened out into smoother, more contemporary grooves on Good Thing and the late-night feel of Gold Diggers Sound. Lately, he’s been folding in hints of folk and country again, keeping the writing intimate while the band stays sharp and warm.
Special guest KOKOROKO opens the night with their London-bred afrobeat-jazz blend led by trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey. Expect brass-heavy themes, hypnotic rhythms and that collective live energy they’ve honed since their breakout moment with “Abusey Junction”, then pushed further on Could We Be More with more vocals and soul-tinted textures.
