Warhaus, Maarten Devoldere (best known from Balthazar), brings his dark and sophisticated pop universe to AB&B – Amager Bio in Copenhagen on 13 February 2027. With The Donkey, he opens a new chapter, where cinematic elegance remains, but the songs also possess a more immediate, physical pulse. The lyrics unfold like small hypnotic scenes, while the vocal moves between the raw and the restrained, and rhythms inspired by South African Gqom push the music forward in a way that does not always do what one might expect.
The singles Simple Pleasures and The Baby reveal the range: the melodic and stylish on the one hand versus something more intense and unruly on the other.
