On 17 October 2027 at the Élysée Montmartre, The Mission comes to remind us why its name remains etched in the history of British gothic rock. Born in Leeds in 1986 around Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams after their departure from The Sisters of Mercy, the band quickly found its own path: a blend of gothic rock, post-punk and hard rock, carried by expansive guitars, melodic refrains, and a darkness more lyrical than strictly abrasive.
Live, one can expect a journey through the group’s different eras, from the late 1980s and early 1990s classics associated with God’s Own Medicine, Children or Carved in Sand, to the more nuanced turns of the following years. Always led by Hussey despite lineup changes, The Mission continues to keep alive this tension between rock energy and dark romanticism, tailor-made for the live show and for those who enjoy melody taking the foreground without losing its shadow.
