Melodies International celebrates the Ariwa Sounds legacy with a release party built around the man behind it: Mad Professor. Back in 1979, Neil Fraser set up Ariwa in London and helped shape a UK reggae and dub sound that’s still everywhere today. Expect a journey through 45 years of productions where heavy bass, space, echo and studio science meet roots reggae, lovers rock and forward-looking electronics.
On Saturday 8 August 2026 at Colour Factory in London, Mad Professor takes the stage live, bringing his hands-on approach to dub straight from the mixing desk. He’ll be joined by Aisha, an iconic voice of the UK reggae scene and a key presence on the compilation. Together, they revisit the Ariwa universe: versions, rewinds, and those signature transformations where vocals melt into delay and rhythm tracks get rebuilt in real time.
