We Are Scientists will play in Bournemouth at O2 Academy Bournemouth on October 8, 2026, bringing their tight, guitar-driven indie rock back to the stage. Formed in 1999 and built around Keith Murray and Chris Cain, the band has always worked best in short, punchy songs: dry, tense riffs, a bass that pushes everything forward, and hooks that land fast without overdoing it.
From the early breakthrough of With Love and Squalor to later records like TV en Français, Megaplex, Huffy, Lobes and Qualifying Miles, they’ve kept the same nervous energy while leaning into cleaner, more direct melodies. Live, that mix of post-punk snap and power-pop instinct turns into a set that moves quickly, leaves little dead space, and puts the emphasis on rhythm, chorus, and momentum.
