Info
Ocean Colour Scene roll into Bournemouth International Centre on 5 December 2026. Formed in Birmingham in 1989, the band moved from early baggy and indie roots toward a lean, melodic rock that folds britpop, blues rock and a clear mod streak into tight, song-first writing. Across Moseley Shoals, Marchin’ Already and One from the Modern, they set a template of clean guitars, supple rhythms and singable refrains, a thread they kept pulling on from Mechanical Wonder through Painting. On stage, Simon Fowler’s voice sits front and centre while Steve Cradock’s guitar lines shift between bite and clarity, with Oscar Harrison anchoring the groove. The set typically spans their catalogue, from the mid‑90s breakthrough to later releases, balancing jangling momentum and slower, soul‑tinged passages.
Sharing the bill, The Enemy bring Coventry-forged indie rock with alternative and punk edges. Launched in 2006 by Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts, the trio writes short, taut and melodic tracks rooted in everyday stories and street-level detail, from We’ll Live and Die in These Towns to It’s Automatic. After a pause announced in 2016 and a solo detour for Clarke, the band regrouped in 2022, then returned to UK stages and festivals. Live, their compact riffs and no-frills hooks drive a brisk set that lands as a lean counterpoint to Ocean Colour Scene’s broader palette.
