Gorilla Biscuits bring their New York youth crew hardcore to 229 London on 2 June 2026. Formed in 1986 in the Lower East Side around singer Anthony “Civ” Civarelli and guitarist‑songwriter Walter Schreifels, the band forged a fast, melodic sound with gang vocals and sharp riffs, and lyrics about friendship, choices and DIY culture. After an early demo, an EP in 1988 on Revelation Records and the album Start Today in 1989, they became closely linked to the straight edge and CBGB scenes. The group split in the early 1990s, its members moving through Quicksand, CIV and Youth of Today, before returning for occasional shows that keep their concise, urgent writing very much alive.
Special guests Clobber and Aku complete the bill, adding fresh angles to a lineup rooted in hardcore’s speed and melody. Three bands on one stage, with songs built for collective shout‑alongs, set in London for a night that links different generations of the scene.
