Effigy brings Austin quartet Die Spitz together with Los Angeles doom outfit Faetooth to Electric Bristol, Bristol on 14 June 2026.
Die Spitz are four longtime friends — Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Eleanor Livingston and Kate Halter — channelling a raw blend of punk, grunge, metal and alt-rock. Formed almost by accident after a night watching The Dirt, they dive into tight, driving songs where serrated riffs, rumbling bass and clipped screams collide with bursts of feedback. Their name — “the Reaper that spits” — fits a direct, no-frills spirit that thrives on urgency and friction.
Faetooth arrive from LA’s DIY metal scene with a slow, heavy strain often tagged fairy doom. Melodic voices cut through dense guitars, drawing from sludge weight and shoegaze haze. Their writing favours long forms and marked dynamic shifts, moving between repetitive motifs, crushing riffs and quieter passages. Their 2022 album Remnants of the Vessel set the blueprint; on stage they stretch time, build atmosphere layer by layer and let tension carry the set.
