The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers return with their unmistakable twin-voiced folk rock at De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on 25 July 2026. Formed in 1983 by Scottish brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, the duo began acoustic before expanding into a fuller band sound that blends folk, roots rock, country shades and a punch of punk energy. Their tight harmonies and plainspoken writing, delivered with that clear Scottish accent, have carried songs that travel far beyond their origin story.

Across a catalogue that runs from early landmarks like This Is the Story and Sunshine on Leith to Angry Cyclist and Dentures Out, they’ve kept a direct line between personal tales and social snapshots. Live, they move easily between strummed intimacy and driving, full-band momentum, stitching together the anthems that made them stick—Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), Sunshine on Leith—with newer material that shows their craft still sharp. Decades on, The Proclaimers keep the songs front and center: melody first, words that land, and harmonies that hit in unison.
