Born in Camden, the band fused British ska, rocksteady and pop with punchy brass, clipped rhythms and everyday storytelling. From One Step Beyond… and Absolutely through The Rise & Fall, they shifted over time toward a more melodic pop writing, without losing the bounce that defined their early 2 Tone days. Reformed in the 1990s, they’ve kept the catalogue alive on stage and on record, drawing a clear line from the streets of north London to sing-along choruses built for open-air nights.
Also on the bill, Hollie Cook brings a soft-focus, tropical pop take on reggae. After a stint with The Slits, she carved out solo albums where silky vocals, warm basslines and detailed arrangements shape an intimate, sunlit sound. From her self-titled debut to Happy Hour, her tracks balance sweetness and pulse, giving the set a bright, modern glow that pairs naturally with ska-pop roots.
