Rush « Fifty Something Tour »

On 16 March 2027, Rush brings the Fifty Something Tour to The O2 in London. Formed in Toronto in 1968, the trio carved a sound at the crossroads of hard rock, progressive rock and, at times, heavy metal. From the early, blues-inflected debut to the structured epics of 2112 and Moving Pictures, their music plays with long forms, shifting time signatures and a clear melodic sense. Neil Peart’s lyrics have long explored science fiction, introspection and social questions. The 80s opened a synth-forward chapter with Signals, followed by a gradual return to a more guitar-driven approach through Vapor Trails and Clockwork Angels.

On stage, Rush stands out for a precise, narrative way of building songs within the power-trio format. The Fifty Something Tour looks back across decades of material: the rootsy beginnings, the conceptual suites, the keyboard-laced period and the later records. The set is carried by the interplay of Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, and by an attention to structure that has defined the band’s catalogue from the start.
