The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers play Victoria Hall, Stoke-on-Trent on 4 June 2026. Formed in 1983 by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, the Scottish duo began as an acoustic act before expanding into a fuller band format. Their music blends folk rock, roots and pop with a trace of punk energy, built on tight harmonies, straightforward writing and vocals sung in their Scottish accent.

On stage, they move easily between stripped-back moments and a more electric sound, keeping the songs at the center. The set spans early tracks like Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Sunshine on Leith, alongside material from later albums including Life with You, Notes & Rhymes, Like Comedy, Angry Cyclist and Dentures Out. Over four decades, their catalogue has woven personal narratives with social observations and political themes, and that balance carries into their live shows through clear melodies, crisp arrangements and the back-and-forth between the two voices. A concise, unfussy performance that focuses on songwriting and connection.
