Black Pistol Fire

Black Pistol Fire play the Gorilla in Manchester on 24 July 2026. Formed in Toronto and now based in Austin, the duo of guitarist-singer Kevin McKeown and drummer Eric Owen keep things minimal: guitar, drums, no bass. Their territory is a rock rooted in blues and garage—rough-edged riffs, no-nonsense hooks and a drumbeat that drives straight ahead. The song structures remain tight, built for live performance, with tension buildups and sharp breaks.

On stage, the band delivers a blend of blues rock and rock'n'roll, with punk accents and a faint Southern flavor. The setlist draws from across their discography, from their debut album released in 2011 to Look Alive (2021), including Big Beat '59, Hush or Howl, Don't Wake the Riot and Deadbeat Graffiti. Across the records, the melodies have sharpened without losing their edge, and the duo occasionally drifts into more psychedelic detours before returning to the core: a direct, impact-ready sound.
