Skindred bring their ragga-metal crossover to O2 Academy Birmingham on 30 October 2026. Formed in Newport and fronted by the rough, charismatic voice of Benji Webbe, the band weaves heavy riffs, reggae pulses and dancehall accents with rap-like flows and direct choruses. On stage, they alternate between metal assaults and Jamaican-style breaks — a blend built for collective movement. The set draws from across their discography, from Babylon to Smile, featuring the tempo changes and syncopated groove that define Mikey Demus’s guitar work and Arya Goggin’s drumming.
Opening the bill, Alien Ant Farm arrive from Riverside, California, with a blend of alternative rock, nu-metal and touches of funk. Dryden Mitchell on vocals and Mike Cosgrove on drums deliver songs that swing between emphatic riffs and straightforward melodies, from the ANThology and TruANT catalogue to more recent tracks from Mantras. The band strikes a clear balance between metal energy and a knack for hooks, ideal for warming the room before Skindred take the stage.
