Billy Lockett

Billy Lockett brings his piano-led songwriting to Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 12 May 2026. Raised in Northampton by a dad who nudged him toward music, he cut his teeth on London open mics before supporting Birdy, Lana Del Rey, KT Tunstall, Lewis Capaldi and Electric Light Orchestra. After his father’s death, he retreated home and wrote relentlessly in the basement, shaping a sound that moves between intimate piano-and-voice confession, clean pop structures and occasional modern classical instrumentals. Since then, he’s released the Reset and Reflections EPs, a self-released solo piano album picked up by Classic FM, and his debut album Abington Grove, recorded back in that same house.

On stage, expect a set that shifts from hushed ballads to fuller pop songs, with the piano always at the centre. Lockett’s writing circles grief, breakups and fresh starts, told in a direct, unvarnished tone. Between songs he often shares the stories behind them, turning the show into something close to a living-room session. It’s a chance to trace his journey from early open mic staples to newer tracks, played up close and without excess, with the focus squarely on the songs.
