The Great Old Ones  

On 4 April 2026 at the Glazart in Paris, The Great Old Ones unleashed their atmospheric black metal steeped in the universe of H. P. Lovecraft. Formed in Bordeaux in 2009, the band builds long, narrative pieces in which surges of violence, layered riffs and more contemplative passages intertwine. On stage, the narrative takes precedence: icy accelerations, hypnotic pulses and post‑metal textures interlock to bring forth a tense, immersive atmosphere that echoes their literary themes.

From the first tremors of Al Azif to the more melodic contours of Tekeli‑li, through the tales of EOD: A Tale of Dark Legacy and Cosmicism, and on to the dark reveries of Kadath, the band has refined a language of stark contrasts and atmospheric development. Guitars stretch melodies beneath the storm, the rasping voice traces the narrative thread, and the rhythm section keeps up the pressure. At the Glazart, The Great Old Ones offers a plunge in which black metal meets post‑metal expanses to narrate, without unnecessary effects, a passage between tension, vertigo and dreamlike reverie.
